Jessica Burbank, host of the new show Funny Money, joins us to break down the debt ceiling debate in Congress. The right is using this as an opportunity to, yet again, try to cut social safety net programs, but of course they have no issue raising the debt ceiling when a Republican is in the White House.
We open the show with Rob’s realization that Canadians are not allowed to comment on US politics then follow it up with the news of Jordan’s engagement.

Ep. 171: Funny Money ft. Jessica Burbank
Great episode... I don't have a money printer in my basement, so I've subscribed to Burbank's economics podcast Funny Money. Hoping to be learning more there.
Jordan, congrats on defeating your now betrothed. I hope you can now unclench and relax. Seriously though, congrats to you both.
Like Rob, I'm not American, so this internship is now redundant. I was disillusioned and ready to hand in my resignation as an Insurgents paid intern but then I heard about the complimentary wedding invites. I'm down for it, so I've paid for a flight already. Where do I send the invoice? Thanks again.
Congratulations Jordan!!!
