We explore the ethical implications and potential avenues for accountability. Even more bizarre, the donor (Harlan Crow) is a collector of Nazi memorabilia which led to a bizarre line of defense from his associates as the story developed.
We also get into U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk — a far-right Trump appointee — issuing a decision that potentially jeopardizes the FDA’s approval of the abortion drug mifepristone. The decision, as Chris explains, is wholly untethered from the law on issues of both standing and merit. But in a country and legal system where ideologues can issue decisions based on personal belief and with an extremist Supreme Court willing to shirk precedent, it’s hard to see this as anything other than a deeply unserious charade.
